The color should be printed on the pencil. It's sometimes hard to tell unless you draw with it first.

I love this item. The colors are bright. No sharpening required! Very nice set. I wish there was a set with even more colors, like crayolas.

The twist up Idea is Great but the pencil inside is poor quality as it does not transfer to the paper easily. I bought this for myself as an adult it doesn't work well for underlining or shading. It would be very hard for a child to color a picture or draw with these
